So, who is Boothster?
We’re a green trade show booth company that will not only design you the coolest booth at any given show, but we’ll also do it using eco-friendly and sustainable materials and products.
Boothster’s dynamic creative team is certainly not afraid to think outside the booth—and we’re hoping to change the industry with our innovative designs and creative use of biodegradable, environmentally friendly, and sustainable materials.
We’ve been inspired by design greats like Frank Gehry, Shigeru Ban and Tadao Ando, who were not afraid to push boundaries, break conventional design rules and use untraditional materials—and who changed the design world because of it. We’re not afraid to do things others haven’t done before, and use materials in new and interesting ways.
We’ll deliver better design, more innovation and more creativity than anyone else, all while using materials that won’t sit in a landfill for the next thousand years. Basically, we’ll give you better design that’s better for the earth.
How do we do it?
Because we don’t just say we’re green; we were born green and we think green. Boothster isn’t a traditional trade show booth company that decided to use a few recyclable materials and call ourselves eco-friendly. We were born as an environmentally friendly custom design house and we continue to look at everything we do through a green lens.
Sourcing Locally
To cut down on our carbon footprint, we like to use materials that come from close by. We are also constantly looking around us for ways to turn things some people might consider trash into something beautiful and really cool. An example? When working on our U.S. Forest Delegation exhibit in Buenos Aires we turned logs found in our workspace into stools for the booth.

Landfill Assessment Protocol
We think about where every material we choose in the design ends up at the end of its life. We choose materials that are biodegradable or recyclable.
For the U.S. Forest Delegation in Buenos Aires, we saved durable, recyclable cardboard tubes from the garbage and incorporated them into the design of the booth.

Full Circle Eco Analysis
We don’t just label a material “recyclable and add it to our inventory. We research each material and choose based on its ecological properties, functionality, aesthetic properties and price.
For example, we have started phasing out aluminum structures (even though aluminum is recyclable) because it causes a lot of damage when its extracted from the earth.
For a booth we completed for Unilever, we used soy glue plywood as part of the design, rather than traditional aluminum trade show structures.

Currently aluminum is only used in about 10% of our projects. Of those, the aluminum comes from recycled stock and we re-use it over and over again. This part of our process led us to fabricating the exhibit in Buenos Aires vs. transporting it from the USA, which saved lots of fuel and money.
Vegetable Oil and Biofuel Transportation
We recommend carbon neutral shipping companies to our clients. We also sometimes transport materials in the Lead Designer’s vegetable-oil-powered van.
Why we do it
Because we love design. We also like the earth.
Boothster Founder John-Paull Davidson was always passionate about design and had the crazy idea that he could do it better than anyone else. He’s a self-trained designer who isn’t afraid to push boundaries and use unconventional materials in new and surprising ways. John-Paull strives for better design, more innovation and more creativity—not only in the designs Boothster produces, but also in the materials used.
Working for design firms and trade show booth companies in the past, John-Paull realized it just didn’t feel right to be designing retail spaces and trade show booths fabricated from non-green materials, which were then cast into landfills after they were done – usually after only 3-5 years. It just seemed like such a waste.
So, in late 2006, Boothster was born. John-Paull saw a hole in the market, and knew that companies would both want green trade show booths and want to integrate eco-friendly materials as part of their brand statement.
Today, Boothster has evolved into a custom design house and a seller of custom designed products. In addition to making custom designed trade show booths, Boothster also developed EcoLoco Porto; as well as the biodegradable material EcoCotton Board.
